At the start of 2024, we opened Pet Parlor - a premium pet daycare, boarding, and grooming facility in Le Mars, IA!
Meet the Team

Brittany Lake
FOUNDER
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a Master of Business Administration, Brittany knew she wanted to find a way to merge these two degrees. She has always been a lover of animals and with 3 dogs and 2 cats at home, she knew just how difficult it was to find boarding and daycare in her community. Brittany had joked about the idea of opening a facility like this, but never dreamed it would happen. She previously has worked at veterinary clinics, animal shelters and has assisted with the business side of Kellen Feedlot for the past 10 years. Brittany is our business manager overseeing boarding and daycare.
Her husband, Carter, is not directly involved with the day to day operations, but continues to provide so much support and guidance. You may see him around as our Maintenance guy!

Hailey Kellen
FOUNDER
Hailey spent three years as a pet sitter while working towards her bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Iowa. When Brittany started discussing the idea of opening a pet facility back home in Le Mars, Hailey knew she could not let this opportunity go by. She immediately jumped on board and is so excited to continue her work with animals daily.
Hailey graduated from the Professional Pet Grooming certification course at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Hailey will be our business manager overseeing the grooming team. Before our facility opened, Hailey was the groomer at the Le Mars Veterinary Clinic!

Bobbi & DJ Kellen
FOUNDERS
After hearing their daughters talk of this idea for years, they themselves were intrigued. They immediately jumped on to help with resources and planning to help get this business started.
DJ and Bobbi are both at Pet Parlor frequently to help check-in pets, assist with daycare, and complete cleaning tasks.

Great progress has been made recently! 👏🏼 A lot of our exterior work is getting closer to completion - with some fence posts and more concrete poured this past week for our outdoor play areas!!

Thanks to our friends at American Bank and Red's Printing Co., we now have signage at our property! Work continues to progress each and every week!
In May 2023, the owners attended the Pet Boarding and Daycare Expo in Las Vegas. The goal of the trip was to learn so much - and we sure did! We spent four days between seminars and a trade show learning best practices and about the best products. We are excited to bring back all we’ve learned and apply it to our business.
Where are we located? You will be able to find our location at 3401 Lake Avenue in the new Southview Industrial Park of Le Mars. You can find us by driving south (towards C38) past Schuster Trucking on Lake Avenue located on the West side of the road. As of June 1, 2023, we closed on our property and have started preparing for our future building! We will continue to post updates here, so make sure to follow along!
